Robert Becker is the Chief Investment Strategist and Managing Director of Investments at Versus Capital. Prior to joining Versus Capital, Robert was director of investor relations at Eversource Energy, an electric, gas, and water utility and renewable energy developer and member of the S&P 500. Previously, he spent more than 18 years at Cohen & Steers, where he was co-founder and co-head of the global listed infrastructure strategy and a portfolio manager for $9 billion in infrastructure securities. Earlier, Robert was a portfolio manager for the $1.6 billion Franklin Utilities Fund at Franklin Templeton Investments. The Franklin Utilities Fund was the top performing fund in the Lipper Utility category for the three years ended November 2003. He was an equity research associate for US electric utilities and independent power producers at Salomon Smith Barney, where his team was top ranked for research of independent power producers (Greenwich Survey 1998-1999) and #1 ranked for stock picking in the Wall Street Journal All Star Analysts Survey in 1998. Robert also worked in equity research for global utilities and global transportation companies at Scudder, Stevens & Clark. Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from the University of California at Berkeley.
